Welcome to my website! I’m author of fiction and creator of TTRPGs. I have several projects I am working on at the moment and will happily talk about them at length here! As well as anything else that strikes my wandering eye.

She Who Storms

SHE WHO STORMS

She Who Storms

SHE WHO STORMS

Once the most feared mercenary in the archipelago, She Who Storms has left the death trade behind to focus on life. She has a farm, children, and a husband she may not be sure she loves but doesn’t hate. The life she chose has settled over her shoulders and she almost forgets who she once was. Until the island’s Oracle demands the children of She Who Storms be sacrificed to the daemon of the island.

With nothing left to hold her to her farm, She Who Storms sets out for revenge. Only the words of the Oracle promising a way to get her children back keeps her head attached to the rest of her. She tells She Who Storms that if she brings the heads of four betrayers to the Crossroads of Ilvar, Death can be bargained with.

Now She Who Storms will walk the archipelago again, seeking out heads to fill her pack and seal a bargain with Death. Along the way is the head of her husband, Kindo, who refuses to be quiet, mocks her every step of the way. None of it matters. Not his words or the swords she must cross to reach her goal. The only thing driving her now is to regain the threads connecting her to life.

But the path of death is a hard one to break free of once, let alone twice, and in the end, She Who Storms may not be able to step off.

Short Stories

I have several short stories on my blog. They can be found via the Short Story tag, but I thought I might link to them here so they would be easier to find. Because I want them to be found! And read. And, dare I say it, loved!

An Abominable Gift - A sci fi story with romance elements. Several ideas I've had over the years came to play in this story.

Bereavement - My husband is a constant source of inspiration. In this case, creepy and disturbing inspiration.

Bloody Work - A sci-fi, magic, corpse-y story about a man who is good at his job and the woman who is better.

The Broken Path - If you've read An Abominable Gift you will know Boden. This story comes first.

The Copper King - A fantasy romance story with a lot of rain. I adore these characters. I've since written 3 more short stories and am working on a fourth. I am not sure what I will do with them all when done. Also, I have at least two more ideas so not done yet!

The Cowboy - A sort of character piece. About a cowboy and how technology does try to kill the romance of work.

Erynna's Fate - This story revisits characters from Sealed with a Kiss. Kyle's foster daughter is all grown-up.

Godlike - This takes place in the same universe as An Abominable Gift. More sci fi with a wee bit of romance and adventure.

The Nots - A short little story about a mother and daughter who may not be.

Photosynthesis - A girl on a bus meets a boy. The idea sprang from real life on a long distance bus trip.

The S Story - Thievery, a curse, and a murder. With a happy ending. Pretty much.

Satan's Stallions - What do you get when you cross an MC story with unicorns? Well, in my case you get this.

The Scarlet Ibis - The nugget my December 2015 project came from. A story, from a different point of view, about the notorious Scarlet Ibis.

Sealed with a Kiss - An M/M romance with a fisherman and a selkie. In which the good guy wins.

Virtual Max - My alternate ending to the Avon FanLit contest I did not submit to the contest. My fanfic fanlit ending!

The Wondrous Cabinet of Resplendent Perspicacity - Magicians have a magical box. It does amazing things. One police detective is less impressed than the audience.

The December Project - In which I wrote about the life of a superhero/villain depending on who you ask. It's a love story and it starts on the first day of kindergarten for Jory Couch and Marcelina Mencher. Each entry is one day in their lives for the following year.

Day One - Love at first sight. Kinda.

If you look under the comment box you'll see navigation buttons. Select newer to read the next entry. You can also find them all under the December tag. I'm still sorting the best way to gather these up.

8 Dates - Part of my December 2016 short stories work. A romance serial, that adds a dash of sci fi. Follow the story here: One Two Three Four Five Six Seven

Chapter Ones - This year December kicked my creative ass. 2016 was a rough one personally. So, a few stories were simply the first chapters of books either completed or not. By completed I mean a first draft was finished, not a useable draft for anything. Still, I like them enough to share.

Angels on My Shoulder - I wrote this a few years ago. A witch inherited angels from her mother. The prequel to the novel was posted here.

Citizen of Interest - My 2016 Nanowrimo project. Take Person of Interest, drop it in a collapsing Roman Empire and add a hot shaman.

Rise of the Plastics - This is the first chapter of my dieselpunk book in my Will Rogers Rocket Port idea. The books doesn't meet the aesthetic properly so needs work.

When the Spirit Moves You - Chapter One and Chapter Two of my first serious attempt at novel writing. I never finished the book.
